Ice Age Imperials exhibit is the focus of January 17 presentation
The North Berrien Historical Museum invites the public to attend a presentation on the Ice Age Imperials exhibit currently open at the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center in St. Joseph. The program will be held at the North Berrien Historical Museum in Coloma. Heritage Museum Director Christina Hirn Arseneau and Frederick S. Upton Fellow Caitlyn Dial will present images and information describing this special exhibition and related programs.
Ice Age Imperials will be on display at The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center through September 1, 2012, recreating the Michigan of 12,000 years ago. The exhibit features life-size, authentic dioramas with prehistoric animals and Paleo-Indians. Visitors can touch real fossils from extinct animals like the sabertooth cat, woolly mammoth, giant beaver, and more. An activity area allows kids to “dig” for fossils and draw cave art. The exhibit also includes Ice Age fossils and artifacts found locally.
This free program at the North Berrien Historical Museum will be followed by refreshments. For more information, contact the museum at (269) 468-3330.
